My People

Where would I be without my people? Where would you be without your people? You know, the people in your life that make it worth living. The ones that love you and believe in you! The ones you run to for support when the going gets rough; the ones you run to with happy news to share!

Friends, family, co-workers – I absolutely love and adore my people! I wouldn’t trade them for the world! They ARE my world! They are there when I need them without ever giving it a second thought! And yet, sometimes I feel as though I don’t tell them enough how important they are to me.

As I go through life and the years roll by, I have realized how truly important these relationships and cherished loved ones truly are! I’ve also learned that there will be rough times ahead. It’s inevitable! Life can, and most certainly will, beat you up, knock you down, and kick you around! It happens to all of us! Just know, as long as you are living and breathing, that’s part of life. However, it doesn’t need to define us or stop us from living our best life. We can choose to learn from it and move on. Consider it a lesson from God used to teach us and to help us to grow. May we carry those lessons into the future and avoid falling into the same old trap again.

That’s where our people come in! We all need to have someone to grab onto, to pull us up out of the murky mud and to help us clean ourselves off. Someone who will believe in us when we don’t believe in ourselves. Someone to help heal the hurt you think you will never recover from!

Don’t ever take your people for granted! Do you have a friend you haven’t touched base with in a while? Reach out! They would love to hear from you! Call Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa – sadly, many of us are no longer able to! Hug your kids like you’ve never hugged them before! As demanding and frustrating as parenthood can be, they need you; they need to know they are loved – you are their world!

Just take a moment today and think about all the wonderful people in your life. How have they shaped you into the person you are today? What lessons have they taught you? How can you show them appreciation and better yet, how can you be that kind of person to someone else?

Life can be challenging, and, at the same time, life can be beautiful! Let’s be thankful for the people by our side who make this world a better place and add spice, adventure, and love to our lives!

Until next time, and to all my people, thank you for being a part of my life! Your love, support, and encouragement are incredible! I love you and I’m so thankful for each and every one of you!
